If never sleeping meant waking up early...

...then my body would see what my eyes could not grasp that which my hands did not hear what my ears didnt taste but my senses sensed.
...then an insomniac would be what i am.
...then sleeping in late, meant never waking up.
...then all the times you said i was wrong i was right.
...then you wouldn't understand this would you?, but you do because i speak your language. But if i speak your language, then what language do you speak.
...then i would have finished this post by now.
...then my books would have names.
...then my candle would smell like fire.
...then i would be late for school.
...then the yogurt in my left hand would be wood, and the spoon in my right would be a match.
...then all the thoughts that came out of my head at three am were the result of a half-awake brain reading thoughts aloud and then transcribing them.
...then it's time to go to bed.

Elongo, Elongo, from here to San Pedro, we draw lines in the sand.
I have a friend. Her name is Larysa. Maybe you've heard of her. She writes a blog.

and so begins my conversation. The stroy i mean to tell, in a blog i mean to write. The story of my friend, my much misunderstood friend.
she makes good choices, and bad choices...but mostly bad choices. And im here, to tell her what to do about them.
she writes a blog, as ive said, its called 'a day in the life of the undecided teenager' pretty awesome i must say.

why am i saying this right now? Seriously i have now idea...but its filler so live with it.

This post is going pretty Capital crazy. In the sense that I haven't been using enough.

i shall start anew, in the hopes that my next post will be easily understood, and when that fails keep reading, for i have many stories to entertain...if i can remember them.

The White Wolf Society

I have been quite busy during the past few weeks. I have been writing a book with my friend Natasha. We started it 2 years ago and have more or less continued it. Now we have picked up full swing and are writing chapter after chapter. The book is about three friends; Addy, Christina (cousins), and Luke. It's about their quest to find who murdered Addy's parents. Their journey leads them into the dark past of Addy's father, and their travels take them through England (their home), Scotland, and Russia. We have finished quite a few chapters and will continue to write more1 If you want to check out the first few chapters, character bios, blog updates from the writers/editors, and to sign our guestbook; check out http://www.the-white-wolf-society.webs.com/

Please check it out and tell me what you think. Also follow me on twitter eh? www.twitter.com/JennyLye

Things I'm loving as of NOW!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...but none of you are exactly reminding me! (that is if theres anyone out there???)
Anyways this post is basically about things I have seen that i love this month, and the month before. It includes anything and everything!
  1.     Forever 21 Corduroy Skinny Jeans

I love these because they have a nice texture, and the colour is great for fall/winter. Also they are great t go with boots, or oxfords, and even heels, like booties! You can where these pants with anything but i love them with a oxford shirt, or something vintage.

2. Jango.com

I absolutely love this site now. You can make your own playist/radio station of all your favourite bands and it will play them for you. It introduces you to a lot of other great bands because it also plays bands similar to your chosen ones (you can always delete a band you don't like). Also it shows you band/singer bios, pics, vids, and even lyrics. Plus you can share your stations with all the other users. Jango is a great way for artists to get their music heard because it has a feature where a band/singer can make a band accoiunt and put their music for everyone to hear. Users who come across these artists in theeir stations are prompted to vote whether they like or dislike the artist. I feel that Jango can apply to everyone because they have every single band like EVER!! so check it out at http://www.jango.com/

3. NCIS/NCIS L.A.

I love these shows, they are based on the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (a real thing!) and show how the agents work. I can't figure out what to say other than watch it! For all my Canadian readers check out their sites here: www.globatv.com/ncis/index.html and here: www.globaltv.com/ncisla/index.html

4. Bones

This show, like the ones above is a crime show, though this one usually takes place after death. It revolves around the cases of a forensic anthropologist and her witty FBI partner. Hilarity will ensue when you see it. So for my Canuck peeps check it out here: www.globaltv.com/bones/index.html

5. Global and CTV in General!

I can't name all my new fave tv shows but i can say they are all from these two channels. Yes these are both Canadian, but a lot of their shows aare also on US channels so search it up people!

6. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

All about a fallen angel and the girl he has to save to get his wings back. Will he save her? or kill her like his dark tendencies make him want to? This book appeals to anybody who loves things that we think could never happen in this Earth. GO get it...like right now!!!

DISCLAIMER: I was not paid for any of these reviews, these are completely my own opinion.

The NEW Twitter!

So this post is pretty much for everyone out there who has Twitter, or is maybe interested in getting it. Anyways a few days ago Twitter launched it's new layout. Now I was wondering if this is going to be anything like the whole Facebook thing where they changed the layout like a bajillion times, but i'm not so sure. I tested it out and i have to say i'm kind of impressed. Of course props to the cool promo video they filmed for it which was pretty cool. But really it all comes down to how annoying i find it when i want to see someones photo they tweeted, and it opens a new window, which sometimes takes forever to load! With the new Twitter, it shows you that picture on the same screen, it also can show you peoples profiles which is great.
Overall I think this update is great and makes some aspects of Twitter easier to access, but let's just hope they don't overdo it!
Check out the Promo video here!

Someone went AWOL!!

I think an explanation is in need. I have definitely been AWOL for the past two months, but i have excuses...kinda. July, i was in Vancouver (or as I affectionately say, Vanc.) for 10 days. Let me tell you! It was amaaazing! I am definitely moving there!! The beaches and views are magnificent and the people are very friendly! (Well no duh! they ARE Canadian!). Next off in the beginning of August I went to New York!! Wow...can't really say much else. We pretty much did everything you do in New York, and soon I will put up a bunch of photos so stay with me guys! The second part of the New York trip we spent in the beauteous Cape Cod. Our cottage was amazing! (If you ever plan to visit look up William Ladd! he has a cottage that is beautiful!!) the clam chowder was...well i didn't have any..but my mom did...she liked it...ANYWAYS we went whale-watching which is too amazing to explain! and in Provincetown (We stayed in Brewster so it took us like an hour and a half to drive up) we experienced gaytown...it was pretty cool.

So that's why I haven't been on, even though i still had time in between...I was...busy...sure. But I will try to write more and check my youtube because I will be posting more videos..but my webcam is crapped, so I have to fix it AGAIN..but other than that it is all good!! so hang in there and have a great rest of summer!!

Eclipse, Finales, and NCIS

So as you as you all must know, Twilight Saga: Eclipse came out on Wednesday last week. Yes I saw it, yes I liked it. Team Edward or Team Jacob? Well here's the thing, in the books, its no doubt Edward, but in the movie? Let's just say I'm more of a Taylor Lautner person. Sorry Roberto but he seems a bit less... well, creepy I guess. I mean you're not bad or anything, just not really normal enough for me, sorry. All that said, I do have to say it was a great movie, though i'm not sure yet whether it wasn't just hype, I mean hey, the first one was. I saw that movie about 5 times before I realized that it was really bad...and sad, that I had seen it 5 times. Of course I can't wait for Breaking Dawn, though i can't see how they are going to be able to rate it pg-13, if you catch my drift. I'm not reaaallly a Twi-hard per say, but I have my moments. I can say however, that I am psyched for the soundtrack. If there is one thing that this phenomenon gets an A++ in, it's the choice of music. Normally, people who don't listen to indie music don't get exposed to bands like Muse, Metric, and Death Cab for Cutie. But with the Twilight soundtracks, they bring in artists that even I being an indie lover, don't know. Geez if they never make another movie about one of Stephanie Meyers' books, than they better keep making these soundtracks. Soundtracks to what? you ask, well how about life, thats enough inspiration to make a billion albums, I mean helllooo everyone has a different take on life, and there are about what? 6 billion people here? a little tweaking and you could easily get loads of people to listen to them!
Now here's something that bothers me. Pretty much all of the shows I have been watching have had there season finales within the last two months or so. Thing I hate is that RogersOnDemand hasn't put up the premiere of Bones yet, I was under the impression that on that Friday, when it was said to have aired, I missed it. Yet two days after, when ROD would usually put up a new episode, they didn't. Kind of annoying if I do say so myself. Now Bones is set to return in August and I'm left staring at my computer Bones wallpaper, thinking....Dr. Sweets looks really weird in it.
Last of all, my insane ravings, is my rerun habits. See, I have this habit of watching a series from the beginning online, because I haven't seen all the episodes and I want to know the whole story, and well, I've done quite a few times. There's been Bones and Criminal Minds, I'm almost done NCIS, and working my way through Angel, but what next? Well I found out that Michael Weatherly (NCIS, Tony Dinozzo) was on Dark Angel (not related to Angel) so I'm thinking why not right? I mean I've got all summer, theoretically. I realize now, that summer's only six weeks long, it's kind of sad actually now that I think of it.

So I realized, that the point of trying to write a book, is not to please others, but to please myself. I don't see how that is helping my writing process, or should i say processes! Writing when your in the mood doesn't always work, when you stop being in that mood... because then you've stopped writing. And the only thing that will restart it, is to be in that same mood. And then you move on, another book, another stop, another book, and it keeps on going. If I ever find time (and the right mood) to finish them, i suppose i will try and get them published. But hey, no one ever said it would be easy...well...they wouldn't if i knew anyone who could have the grounds to make that opinion. Writing a book, to me, is kind of like writing a blog, pour your heart out, stop and start, find inspiration, whine and worry, wonder who would read it, wonder why you started,... and for us underage's like me, wish you actually liked alcohol, and it was legal for you to drink it, so you could sit at your desk, with a big glass of red wine, and ponder. Ponder what exactly? and why red wine? Well for starters, you would ponder why on earth you decided to make a fourth main character that you are subconsciously basing off of yourself, and also, red wine, because, well I suppose it goes better with the taste of sleep deprivation and insanity then white wine, or hard liquor.

Have you ever written something at 1am? I don't see the difference between the twilight hours and the middle of the day. The walls don't crumble down around me and unleash insomniactic (i think) creativity. If delusions make for good books, then I am way too sane to be writing one. Well, i think about this sometimes, think about what would occur say, if my books all became popular teen novels. I suppose the money would be nice, and i don't think my stuff is THAT bad...well it probably wouldn't be if I had the level of concentration required to finish it.

So tonight I leave you with a question (go off with a bottle of Merlot and ponder it if you wish)
Would it be better to be rich? or intelligent? (relevance is unnecessary in my world)

Blast From the Past!!!

Searching through a big box full of large square folders.
Realizing they are vinyl records.
Discovering that my dad has a varied music collection.
Finding Sting, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, and The Alan Parsons Project (among many others)
Kind of being proud of my dad.

Thus was my adventures through time, in a big box full of vinyl.
Now we just have to get our record player fixed.
Then, oh how the tunes will play.
Raves at my house, we be rockin out to Queen!

The old schoolness of this is thrilling.
I feel very deep, somehow
Now if only i could play the honky-tonk like nobody.
Then, I would be a true old school rock and roller!

For now, i delve deeper into the boxes behind my couch.
Next journey, a big box full of cassette tapes.
I wonder what I'll find...

Update!

location: couch

time: 10:48am

mood: tired

Waking up early on a Sunday is not fun. Why I did I have no idea. My body just loves to torture me with early stomach aches! It's like when I wake up, if I don't get up within 10 minutes, my body thinks i'm being too lazy and sends me these stomach aches, it's annoying as hell I have to say. But now i'm up, have been for about 2 hours. I guess I can't do anything about it now.

So for an update on the blue-blocking glasses trial, I have been feeling tired earlier, and gone to bed earlier too, so thats good. Some days I forget to wear them but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Yesterday i went to bed later than usual (usual as in over the past week.) and yet I woke up early. Something is definitely happening. I still feel tired in the morning but who doesn't right? During school I do tend to get tired but that usually happens so it's nothing new, and I guess the glasses don't promise that. I'm being to lazy in the morning and I think that's what's affecting my school alertness but whatever, i'll live with it.

So I have this Science Unit Test on Monday. It's on Ecology. My Science teacher seriously just loves to torture us. As if exams and summatives aren't enough right? Well I should probably start studying, whatever, tests come and go, no use dwelling on one.

Night Owls and Circadian Rhythms

I am such an insomniac! Over the past few weeks I have been staying up so late and not being able to get to sleep at all. During the summer I wouldn't mind but right now it is terrible! I have finals coming up and I need to go to bed earlier, my dad brought me back these special glasses from his colleague to help me get some rest.

So apparently they block blue-light and that is also supposed to help people with ADHD so if I have that too then great! They affect an individual's circadian rhythm (What is that?) and spur melatonin release (the sleep hormone). When put on and worn two hours before sleep they increase the circadian rhythm to help you sleep. After a whole lot of scientific jargon, basically it means that by blocking blue light, you get sleepier then if you just turned off the lights.

Amazingggg... Well I haven't tried them so I am definitely going to and then I will post a review on them to show you guys if they work. They are fairly new and apparently they cost $40-$50 but I think my dad got them free from his friend (some scientist connection I guess) but if you think about what they promise it seems like a good enough price for me. I will test these out for a week and then I will review them, also I will use them during exam week and tell you if I thought it affected that, with all the stress and stuff. I'll see you later.

Lemonade, Airplanes, and New Schools

I didn't have high expectations when i woke up this morning. Wake up. Eat. Watch T.V. Try not to think about the fact that tomorrow is Sunday.

It's exam time here in Canada. Summatives are coming to an end - I have 4 left out of the 8 - and exam week is soon, stress is not uncommon and neither is sweat. We've been going through a heat wave over the past week. Our highest temperature here has been 32 degrees Celsius! (89.6 degrees Fahrenheit) That may not be hot for you Americans, but we live in igloos, and our igloos are melting!
I've been thinking about this summer, i'm going to be pretty busy. Vancouver in July, New York in August. I want to show everyone my trips, to document the events and memories that take place. I think i'm just glad that school will be over. At the beginning of the year, i was such a keener. I did all my homework, every night, loved my classes. Now most of my classes are good, i don't like the work, and i long for the end of the day, the end of the week. I can't believe we get summatives AND exams though. Aren't exams enough torture? now we have to do a huge project too? it's like the high school from hell! except for the fact that most other schools get it too.
Anyways I probably shouldn't be hating on my school, on account of the fact that next year it won't be here anymore. two years shy of it reaching 100 years, we are knocking it doown to make way for our new field, as we move into the new school. A lot of grads are sad, they're not here next year, but they don't want to see their memories torn down. I, being a freshman here, will miss the old school, but i'm just as excited to see the inside of the new one. I think we've put up with hearing the builder's make enough noise to drown out our marching band long enough. I can't help feeling a little cocky over our new school, apparent state-of-the-art facilities make me want to laugh at everyone who won't be going here next year. I know it's bad but hey its my school i deserve to be a little proud of it.
